I find the blame game to be totally mindless as well, and I wish more people had the approach you have here.

As much as I love the new LFG feature, I think it has a very important flaw: It reduces the communication in /p. If you are in a PUG with people from your own realm, people very often go to some length of behaving. Behaving ok, maybe get to know the others a bit, socialize a bit. In the new LFG, you can't /w someone in the group, you cant give that priest who lacks water your own water (unless it's conjured), you also know that you most likely wont meet these guys again. This makes the blame game all the more intense. Or, rather, people often shoot off some rude remark, and then leave.

Me, as a healer (on my holydin) or dps (my rogue) will always try to learn something from it. What went wrong here? Was it my beacon of light that I had let slide and thus the tank died while I kept healing that "off-tank" (i.e. the DK, enh shaman or such who likes to play tank and get aggro) that was close to dying? Did I accidentally let the tank out of LOS?

So, communication is a somewhat uphill battle with the new LFG. Mostly, people start with a /p hi, and after the last boss, it is a /p ty. Two words. Maybe a "r?" to top it off. When we wipe, people leave without a word. Why should they care? Their karma isn't going to bite them in the butt because most likely, you wont be meeting them again.

Communication is key, also in random HC pugs. I keep on trying to get things rolling, talk a bit, but I often meet a wall of silence. Ok, I can just shut up and heal then :P

Enjoying this blog, just found it today. Will follow your future posts. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
